چکیده

Powdery mildew of melon caused by the Podosphaera xanthii factor is a disease that causes serious yield losses economically in all areas where grown from Asia to Europe and America. The use resistant varieties for control most environmentally friendly method. However, traditional methods breeding have made noteworthy input resistance improvement, but they been slow incompetent targeting complex powdery traits. To overcome these problems facilitate programs, molecular markers closely linked Pm-R5 gene are needed marker-assisted selection (MAS). present study aimed map quantitative trait locus identify with Pm-R which provides race 5 P. MAS melons. A total 310 primers/combinations belonging six marker systems including SRAP, SSR, ISSR, TRAP, CAPS, SCAR RIL population consisting 136 genotypes, developed crosses PMR-6 susceptible inbred line were used QTL mapping. Quantitative loci analysis determined one major (Pm-R) on linkage group I races mildew. SSR12202 at 2.12 cM genetic distance, CMCT170b CMMS30-3 support interval this QTL. co-dominant markers, together information reported here could be genotyping breeding.

The genome of melon (Cucumis melo L.).

We report the genome sequence of melon, an important horticultural crop worldwide. We assembled 375 Mb of the double-haploid line DHL92, representing 83.3% of the estimated melon genome. We predicted 27,427 protein-coding genes, which we analyzed by reconstructing 22,218 phylogenetic trees, allowing mapping of the orthology and paralogy relationships of sequenced plant genomes. We observed the ...

Mapping and Characterization of the fefe Gene That Controls Iron Uptake in Melon (Cucumis melo L.)

Iron (Fe) deficiency in plants limits crop growth and productivity. Molecular mechanisms that plants use to sense and respond to Fe deficiency by coordinated expression of Fe-uptake genes are not fully understood. The C940-fe chlorotic melon (Cucumis melo) mutant known as fefe is unable to upregulate Fe-uptake genes, however, the FeFe gene had not been identified. In this study, we used two F2 ...

Quantitative trait loci mapping of panicle traits in rice

In this study 90 individuals of recombinant inbred lines (RILs) were developed by crossing subspecies of japonica rice cultivar, ‘Nagdong’ and an indica type cultivar, ‘Cheongcheong’. These individuals were used to identify the quantitative trait loci of panicle traits using SSR markers. A genetic linkage map was constructed using one hundred fifty four simple sequence repeat ...

Marker pair selection for mapping quantitative trait loci.

Mapping of quantitative trait loci (QTL) for backcross and F(2) populations may be set up as a multiple linear regression problem, where marker types are the regressor variables. It has been shown previously that flanking markers absorb all information on isolated QTL. Therefore, selection of pairs of markers flanking QTL is useful as a direct approach to QTL detection. Alternatively, selected ...
